Abhishek Malik, a 20-year-old boy from Vijayanagar Colony in Rohtak, appeared to be living a comfortable life with his parents, younger sister, and grandmother. His father, Pradeep Malik, was a well-known property dealer with no shortage of wealth or connections, while his mother Babli Devi was a homemaker, and his sister Neha Malik was a school student in Class 12. To the outside world, they were the picture of a happy, well-settled family. But behind closed doors, tensions were boiling.

Abhishek, who had recently completed a cabin crew course in Delhi, was secretly in a relationship with a boy named Kartik, whom he had met during his training. Their bond quickly turned into a romantic relationship, but when Abhishek returned to Rohtak, his sister accidentally discovered the truth. She caught Abhishek and Kartik being intimate and revealed it to their father. This revelation turned the Malik household into a battleground of constant fights, restrictions, and control. Abhishek’s family could not accept his sexuality, and his father even forbade him from meeting Kartik again.

The breaking point came when Abhishek, frustrated and desperate to be with Kartik, asked his father for money to undergo a gender change surgery so that he could marry Kartik and settle in Europe. His father refused and reacted violently, which pushed Abhishek further into rage and frustration. It was then that he devised a chilling plan—to kill his entire family and claim the property and wealth for himself.

On the night of 27 August 2021, Abhishek took his father’s illegal gun and brutally shot his sister, grandmother, mother, and finally his father, executing each one mercilessly. To cover his crime, he staged the scene as a robbery, stole jewelry, and disposed of the weapon in a river. Later, he pretended to “discover” the murders and called the police. But under strict interrogation, Abhishek confessed to the killings, leaving everyone stunned.
