The Lebanese government sent fresh army troops to the border with Israel Friday.

The soldiers are under orders to stop any Palestinian demonstrations against Israel in the dangerous border area.

Lebanon fears Israel will attack any Palestinian refugees protesting against "massacres" commited by the Israelis troops in Gaza and the West Bank.

Israel has warned protestors in south Lebanon that they risk coming under retalliatory fire if they hurl projectiles across the border.

Last Saturday, Israeli troops opened fire on Palestinian demonstrators, killing one person and injuring at least 14.

The demonstrators had tried to scale the border fence at the Yarin border crossing point.

The incident was the worst border violence since Israel ended its occupation and it follows the capture last week of three Israeli soldiers on the Lebanese/Israeli border by Iranian-backed Hezbollah fighters.
