Discussing the powerful V-1710 Engine. This particular engine is a dash 27 from an early P38 airplane. The short exhaust stacks are for display only! They are not from a P38. Also, the engine shown in the thumbnail photo is one of the factory original Allison PT Boat Marine Engines. It is a complete marine version of the Allison V-1710 pulled from a US Navy PT Boat with GM-Allison made engine-room mounted crankcase, transmission and water cooled exhaust manifolds. PT boats used Packard Engines but Allison V-1710's were used and tested as well. Enjoy!
