Do you have leftover red bean paste? You can easily make mochi with 3 other ingredients, Mochiko flour, sugar, and water! Watch this video to learn how to make mochi with red bean paste. This recipe gives you 8 soft and chewy mochi in less than 30 minutes using the leftover red bean paste!

📋 Ingredients:
Mochiko flour (glutinous rice flour/sweet rice flour) - 120g (3/4 cup + 1 tbsp)
Sugar - 50g (1/4 cup)
Water - 165g (3/4 cup)
Cornstarch - 30g (1/4 cup)

👩‍🍳 Instructions:
1) Whisk mochiko flour and sugar together. Sugar keeps mochi soft for couple of days.
2) Slowly add water and mix well until thoroughly combined.
3) Place the bowl into a steamer that's already simmering. Wrap the lid with a towel, cover and steam at medium-high heat for about 15 minutes.
4) Meanwhile, roll 25g (1.5 tbsp) of red bean paste into a ball. Make 8 balls and set aside.
5) When it's done steaming, knead the dough for 1 minute.
6) Dust a work surface with cornstarch. Quickly transfer the hot mochi onto the floured surface.
7) Dust your hands with cornstarch and fold the mochi. Pinch to close the seam, and roll it into a log. Work quickly before the dough becomes cold and less elastic.
8) Dust your hands with cornstarch and divide the dough into 8 pieces. Cover them with cornstarch.
9) Flatten the edges to make them thinner than the center. Dust off the excess cornstarch.
10) Cover the red bean paste ball and pinch to seal the edges.
11) You can store the homemade mochi with red bean paste in the refrigerator for 1-2 days.
