We are honoring the service of all veterans, who served and sacrificed for their nations all across the world. Untold hundreds of thousands of men fell in the wake of the two most devastating conflicts in human history – the First and Second World War – and it is because of their sacrifice that we can now enjoy the era of peace. However, to maintain that peace, our servicemen and women must be ever-vigilant, and even now the men and women of the armed forces are risking their lives to protect what we all hold most dear.

HISTORY

The T-62 medium tank was born from the need to upgrade or replace the aging T-54/55 series in order for Soviet tanks to be able to defeat their new western counterparts in battle (the history behind the T-62 early development is described here). This tank's 115mm smoothbore gun was a notable upgrade over the earlier rifled D-10T. The "competition" (the D-54TS rifled gun) lingered on for a while thanks to its newly developed tungsten-core subcaliber rounds, but once these became available for the U-5TS smoothbore as well, the D-54TS finally disappeared from future tank proposals. Originally, the T-62 was supposed to be a stopgap measure before the appearance of the newer T-64 tank from Kharkov, but in the end it was produced in the Soviet Union until 1975 with more than 20 thousand made and it formed the backbone of the Soviet forces for many years.

Gameplay

Armored Warfare is set in a modern virtual world where the player takes on the role of a private military company. The game offers players the opportunity to participate in battles across co-op player vs. environment campaigns and team-based player vs. player matches in a variety of armored vehicles, main battle tanks, and long-range artillery. Players can customize their vehicles with upgrades and retrofits that affect the way the vehicles perform in-game.

Vehicle classes

Players can obtain vehicles in five vehicle classes: Main battle tanks (MBTs), AFVs (armored fighting vehicles), light tanks, tank destroyers, and artillery from Non-player character weapon dealers. MBTs such as the M1A1, Challenger 1 and the T-90 are the traditional heavy armor, built for maximum firepower and absorbing damage. AFVs such as the M2 Bradley, BMP-3 and the Warrior are highly mobile and well-suited for spotting enemies and remaining concealed. Self-Propelled Guns or artillery such as the M109, Palmaria and the PzH 2000 utilizes indirect fire to deal damage to enemy vehicles at long range. Tank Destroyers such as the M1128 MGS, and the B1 Centauro mount the same high-damage guns as the main battle tanks, but on a much lighter and more mobile platform with better camouflage. Light tanks such as the Stingray and XM8 are lightly armored and more mobile versions of the main battle tanks, effective at flanking and making rapid maneuvers, but far less capable of absorbing or deflecting damage.

Customization

Armored Warfare will offer players a wide array of vehicle and base customization options. It will be possible to unlock additional vehicles and equipment as players progress through the game as well as visually customize their vehicles.

Player vs. Environment

PvE missions are designed for a group of five players to fight against artificial intelligence (AI) controlled bots. Players can queue for missions individually or grouped with up to four other players in a platoon. Missions can be selected from several difficulty levels up to insane, where success depends on the vehicles the players bring, coordination between the team members and skill in the PvE arena.
