Politics Wrap with Natasha Phiri I Electoral Reform proposals

The deadline for public submissions on electoral reform has passed, the Electoral Reform Panel will now embark on a public participation process with various sectors and South African's at large.

The public, organizations, civil society groups, political parties and prospective independent candidates made their written submissions for consideration on proposals for an electoral system for the National Assembly and all nine Provincial Legislatures.

Submissions addressed why, how and whether the current South African electoral system should be reformed, changed, or even replaced.

To talk to us about this matter further, we are joined by Build One South Africa's Deputy President, Nobuntu Hlazo Webster and Tessa Dooms, who is a director at Rivonia Circle a think tank organisation.
