Описание к видео Screen Recording for Episode 48, Part 3 D How to Use the EIAG Process ro Resolve a Group Conflict

This is Episode 48, Part 3C in our video series, "Enhancing Human Relationships Through the Fourth R, the Relationship Skills and this is Richard Solomon and in today’s episode we will describe how to use the EIAG Process to address a group conflict containing two or more participants

Below you will find the handout on " How to Resolve an Interpersonal or Group Conflict by Using the EIAG Fourth R Reflection Process".

Assumption: Two or more people are in conflict and can’t achieve their objectives until the conflict is resolved in a respectful and thoughtful way. Here is what the EIAG represents:

E= Experience an event. (In conflict situations this can be an event that is blocking the group from achieving its task and relational goals.)
I= Identify what was seen, heard and done.
A= Analyze what was thought and felt.
G= Generalize what was learned about self and others.

Here are The Steps of The EIAG Process

1. The E= Event: Members must first become aware that they are experiencing an event, e.g. a conflict, that is preventing them from achieving their objectives. They must then agree upon reflecting on a particular event at issue, one which clearly manifests the conflict.

2. The I=Identify: Each member is invited to identify what he/she actually saw, heard or did at the time of the conflict.

NOTE: Members always reserve the right to pass or not share information.

3. The A= Analyze: Each member is invited to state what he/she was truly thinking and feeling at the time of the conflict.

4. The G= Generalize Each member is invited to do state what he/she has learned about (a) him/herself, (b) other members of the group and (c) suggest ways to solve the problem.

5. The two members or the group select and prioritize the best solutions to the conflict.

6. The two members or the group implement the best solutions to their conflict.

7. If the conflict is resolved, the EIAG process ends; if the conflict is not resolved, they return to step one and start the EIAG process once again.
