Notice his antlers are still all in velvet. The moose continued eating, and came towards me on his path to cross the road. Time to go!! He walked right behind me, expecting other cars to stop for him. Notice the smoke in the air, we have huge forest fires this summer, lots of smoke in the air!
How to stay safe around moose?
Moose will put their ears back when they are mad.
Never get too close to a moose, especially if it is a mother and babies.
Give moose the right of way if they are on your trail or driveway. Move away from a moose slowly.
Put your arms up and appear big if they approach you.
Run left or right, zigzag between trees if you are charged.
Have fun in the out of doors, and stay safe.
