Cleaning Oil Fired Boiler

In this video I am cleaning this Peerless WB-3 oil fired boiler after the heating season by brushing and vacuuming it.

This is not an annual tune-up; I’m just cleaning it before I shut the boiler down for the season so that the condensation inside the boiler doesn’t combine with the soot and erode the boiler.

This boiler use to be a warm start boiler & the domestic hot water was supplied to the home via a domestic hot water coil, meaning it would maintain temperature all year long, however recently that coil was removed & replaced with a heat-pump water heater. Since the boiler no longer maintains temperature in the offseason it is important that we clean it before shutting it off for the warmer months of the year.
