Thousands participated in the Inquilab Morcha at Azad Maidan in Mumbai.

On 27th December 2019, Mumbai's Azad Maidan became a sea of protesters as thousands gathered to express their opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC). Organized by the Joint Action Committee, the demonstration saw people from all walks of life carrying placards and raising their voices against the central government's policies.

Among the multitude of protesters, Indian social activist and former Jawaharlal Nehru University student Umar Khalid also lent his support to the cause. Addressing the crowd, Umar Khalid criticized the government's penchant for changing names, stating, "This government loves changing names. Allahabad is now Prayagraj. Similarly, NRC is now the National Population Register (NPR)."

Opia Films captures the fervor and determination of the protesters in a compelling video, documenting their fight for justice and their unwavering stand against divisive policies. Experience the energy and passion as citizens come together in Mumbai's Azad Maidan to demand a more inclusive and equitable society.
