Hurricane Helene altered so many aspects of Asheville but we saw so many moments of resilience of humanity through the power of connection and music.

Music became more than just sound; it became a lifeline—a source of healing, joy, a shared connection through harmony, and strength amidst destruction.

This is not only a tribute to the lives changed by the storm but also a celebration of the enduring power of love, community, and the human spirit’s ability to find beauty in the darkest times.

In the 26 impacted counties, creative industries account for $1.18 billion in sales, supporting over 17,500 jobs, which does not include the thousands of western North Carolinians who are “gig workers” or those whose arts job is not their primary source of income.
