The Sears in Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois opened in 1971 and it closed in November 14, 2021. It was the final location in the Chicago area and the entire state of Illinois in 2021 and 2020. The store was open for 50 years and now it’s abandoned kind of half abandoned because 2 new stores moved in a furniture store in the lower level and a Primark store in the upper level. Primark came in on October 2023 and the furniture store on the lower level recently open in the summer 2024.
