MOTO GUZZI 1000S | THE first RETRO ?

Correction production numbers for the 4 years that the 1000S was listed were between 1200-1400 units, not 3000 as mentioned.
3000 was in fact the number of bikes sold from their entire model line up in 1993, Guzzis worst year ever!

The original owner of this beautiful bike made many of the changes that you see from the standard machine. Frank fitted a ‘sprint’ fairing, Lafranconi silencers, Lucas ‘Rita’ electonic ignition and engine protection bars. I’ve had this bike since 1995 during which time I added the Tomoselli clip on bars and upgraded the exhaust system to full stainless steel. Also added FAC dampers to the front forks and new Ikon shocks to the rear. The only issues in 80,000kms have been a burnt exhaust valve and one UJ replaced.
The engine is the main event, both visually and audibly. Thats how a motorbike should be.
The motor is so flexible, it can do all things very well.
Last year my son road it to Scotland and was impressed with how easily it managed the trip.
My wife and I have been to Spain and Portugal on it where it performed perfectly. Also a trip to Spain with my sons through early spring snowy conditions.
They really are great bikes, a throw back to a time when Guzzis were built differently.
