Stirling Soap Co. Island Man

Stirling Soap Company (https://www.stirlingsoap.com/) has brought back its most popular summer seasonal, Island Man. This scent is available only during the summer and is well loved. Stirling is well known for their high quality soaps, aftershave, shaving brushes and more, all priced ridiculously low for the quality they display. The company is owned and operated by veterans, and husband and wife combo, Mandy and Rod Lovan. They are amazing people and their customer service is top notch. Island Man has been inspired by Creed Virgin Island Water. I’ve not had the opportunity to smell this fragrance so I cannot speak to its accuracy. The scent notes are listed as: bergamot, lime, mandarin, coconut, jasmine, hibiscus, ylang-ylang, ginger, sugarcane, musk, and rum. This scent screams summer with its citrus forward top, which is complimented by the spicy ginger and nutty coconut before the musk, sugar cane and rum round this scent out. I now understand first hand why this scent is well loved by so many. Similar scents to this are: ​Declaration Grooming Shore and Oleo Soapworks Caribbean Dream.

The performance on the soap is as expected, having had previous experience with Stirling’s shaving soap. The soap loads easily into the brush, provides good cushion, slickness and post shave. The residual slickness is there, although not a star. The tallow, lanolin and glycerin leave your skin feeling smooth and silky. Considering the price point, Stirling Soap Co. soap base is a wonderful option for anyone who is looking to stick to a shave budget, but the performance also make it punch with other well known and top level artisans.
