When you read a paragraph in a passage, you should understand at least the main point that the writer wants you to know about the topic -- that's the main idea of the paragraph. However, sometimes you finish a paragraph and still don't know what the main idea is. This video explains how to use the supporting details and patterns of information to identify the topic and the main idea of the paragraph more easily and faster.
