Описание к видео Zach Hill @ Luigi's 6/30/09 (full show audio only)

Zach Hill live at Luigi's Fungarden 6/30/09. My second time seeing him here. The 1st was solo. This time he had Dan Elkan (Them Hills) on guitar and Andy Morin (Flatlander) on bass. Chris Miller is at the console but there is nothing going through it. Zach brought his own PA for tracks. The 3 of them were set up on the floor with his PA directly behind him. Chris had a decible meter meter at the console that read 120 dB. That's like being on the runway as a jet is taking off. He was playing so loud and in that room you could barely hear the guitars, as you can tell in the recording. I've done my best to bring them out, but this is the way it sounded in that room that night. You can hear him quite well, which I suppose is the important thing. I really respect his art and drumming, so I'm not talking shit. I wonder about the motivation if any, to play so loud. Is it to cause discomfort and spectacle. I mean, I was on my toes the whole time, but no one in that room can tell me what it actually sounded like at 120 dB. So much physically and psychoactivley is happening at that volume, it's almost unreal. Not that it matters, but I happen to work at Luigi's when it first opened. I also purchased and installed the original system, which was inadequate, but the best I could get for the money they had. I also mixed the 1st couple shows. They later upgraded and then when they closed, sold that PA to Drew Walker, who used it at The Witch Room. I also recorded Playing to the grandstand if you remember them? W Josh Hill, Brian Marshall and Justin Goings. If you search my channel you can find the Playing to the grandstand EP, a What's Up live recording (when they opened for Zach the last time he played Luigi's) and a Tera Melos show at The Witch Room (using this same PA). Anyway. Please subscribe to my channel.
