CISLI would like to share with you some information on the contact tracing process being used in Ireland throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hello Everyone, my name is Vanessa and I am on the CISLI committee. We would like to share with you some information we received regarding contact tracing process. There are three stages.

Call 1: To tell the patient that they have tested positive.

Call 2: This will take place approx two hours after the call to say they have tested positive. They will ask who the person has been in close contact with since showing their symptoms. Close contact is close physical proximity for approximately 15 mins. They will ask for all the close contact telephone or mobile number. They will ask for all the close contacts date of birth. They will ask do you mind me telling your close contacts that you have tested positive. If you say no they will still call the close contacts. They will tell the close contacts that someone you have been in close contact with has tested positive for Covid-19. They will suggest that the patient contacts their contacts themselves. Contact tracing staff will use prompts to find out the patent’s close contacts. For example did you go out to the supermarket?

Call 3: These are the calls to close contacts. As you are aware IDS have already creating a video informing you the medical card GP access is available to everyone during Covid-19. Please text SLIS on 087 980 6996. Let them know your preferred interpreter and they will work remotely.
