Welcome to the D® Season 2 Episode 1
Blind producer, writer, and musician Omar Binno talks about his background and achievements, all while overcoming incredible challenges and struggles in life. He was born with a degenerative disease that caused total blindness, his father was killed when his store was robbed when Omar was only 3 years old, his mother passed away from cancer at a young age, his brother is blind and his other brother lost his arm in an auto accident. Omar was wrongly put in a special needs school because of his blindness until his mother fought to get him into a regular school in 4th grade. From there he thrived. He set the weightlifting record at his high school, studied Karate, graduated college with a master’s degree, learned to play keyboards, become a music producer and has perfect pitch.
And now, to leave his legacy, he has opened a non-profit, Healing Arts of the Little Flower https://healingartslf.org/ to help the disabled, autistic, military veterans and others through music, art and nature therapy.
