UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed has met with Wang Yi, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, in a recent visit to China. Mohammed hopes China and the UN could step up joint efforts on sustainable development, climate change and other issues. China has consistently worked in cooperation with the UN in areas such as peacekeeping and development. Wang said China is ready to work harder with the UN to achieve the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. China firmly supports the central role the UN plays in international affairs, and advocates the principles of the UN Charter. China says it will always be a builder of world peace, a contributor to global development and a defender of international order.
