Описание к видео H264_同期の桜 =英語訳= ( "Dōki-no-Sakura"Kamikaze song =EnglishTranslation = )

"Dōki-no-sakura",
This is an antiwar song conveying the tragedy of the Kamikaze special attack unit .

Because there is expression peculiar to Japan which U.S. national language does not have, I translated it using the English word of a near meaning .

"Sakura"(The cherry tree) is a symbol of the Japanese mind .

Japanese mind is Bushidō(Samurai spirit).
"Bushidō is the way of death, for friend ".

Many Westerner who does not know the Bushidō , does not understand the meaning of this music "Dōki-no-Sakura" .

Kamikaze pilots laid down his life for his friends.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. ( John 15:13)

同期の桜

"Dōki-no-sakura"
(cherry blossoms of the same years)

---
■昭和二十年三月二十一日 陽光うららかな日

■March 21, 1945. clear and mild spring day.

「美しく立派に散るぞ。」そう言って

"I shall pass away brightly", my fellow said.

一番機に向かう友の胸に、俺は
まだ「ツボミ」だった桜の一枝を飾って送った。

I gave a Branch of cherry which are still in bud
as a present to my fellow who is heading to the first kamikaze plane..

明日は俺の番だ。

Tomorrow is my turn.

死ぬ時が別々になってしまったが、
靖国神社で逢える。

Even if time to die is separate days.
We will be able to meet again in the Yasukuni Shrine

その時は、きっと桜の花も満開だろう。

Then surely
The cherry blossoms will be in full bloom, too.

■三月二十六日 花さわやかに開く日

■March 26, 1945. nice blooming day.

お父さん、お母さん、只今より出発します。

Father, mother, I am leaving now.

この世に生をうけて二十三年、

23 years has passed since I was born.

まさか、
お父さんやお母さんより、早く死ぬとは、
思ってもみませんでした。

Never did I dream that .....
I will die sooner than my father and mother.

お母さん、
泣くなと言うのは無理かも知れません。

Mother,
I suppose it is impossible for you not to cry.

でもどうか
「よく死んでくれた」そう言って下さい。

However, tell me
"You lay down your life, and a good job, too."

私達は祖国を護る為に死んで行くのですから。

Because we are going to die in order to
protect our own country.

■四月二日 春雨のけむる日

■April 2, 1945. foggy spring rainy day

幸か、不幸か、俺はまだ今日も生きている。

Luckily or unluckily, I still survive today

だが、雨があがり、虹が橋をかけ、
あかね色の夕燒け空が拡がる時に、

However, when rain stops,
a beautiful rainbow is spanning the red sunset sky .

俺は必ず征く、後に続くを信じて。

I never fail to go heaven,
I believe that all my fellows will follow me

俺達の死を
決して、犬死にしてもらいたくないのだ。

I do not like to make our death for nothing.
