The final part of my walkthrough of Metroid Fusion. I will be collecting 100% of items and will complete the game in under 2 hours in order to get the best ending.

And now, the truth is revealed. The ringleaders behind the Metroid breeding program have taken an interest in weaponizing the X, despite the dangers they put Samus through. Samus cannot allow that to happen, but she can't take action due to the ship's computer keeping her confined inside the Navigation Room. However, after Samus calls the computer Adam and explains the backstory to this nickname, the A.I. suddenly takes on the personality of her former C.O. and is now willing to help Samus put a stop to the X once and for all. With our final objective laid out, we return to the Main Deck and head to the Operations Room. On the way we pick up the last Power Bomb Tank and complete our item collection.

The totals for 100% in Metroid Fusion are 250 Missiles, 74 Power Bombs, and 2099 health.

Before we can enter the hatch to the Operations Room, we have our long-awaited showdown against the SA-X. The SA-X will Screw Attack around the room and fire Ice Beams at Samus once it lands. If Samus is gripped onto a ledge, it will fire a Super Missile to knock her off it. The strategy is to shoot it with fully charged beam shots while it is grounded. The damage from your beam is enough to stagger it and interrupt its attacks briefly. When the SA-X takes enough damage it will use the DNA it obtained from a Hornoad to mutate itself into a terrifying beast. Despite its appearance, it is much easier to fight now: it cannot fire ice beams anymore and has resorted to simply hopping around the room in an attempt to squash Samus. Aim your shots at its head and eventually it will crumble to the floor and revert into a Beam Core-X. Once you the destroy its shell, the SA-X will retreat in parasite form. Now all that's left is to rig the ship's orbit and return to our ship within the 3 minute time limit.

Unfortunately for Samus, she arrives at the Docking Bays to see her ship missing. To make matters worse, a Metroid managed to escape from the Restricted Laboratory before it exploded and has fully evolved into an Omega Metroid. As its about to finish Samus off, the Omega's attention is suddenly drawn towards the returning SA-X, which it defeats with ease. We use this opportunity to absorb the SA-X and acquire the final upgrade in the game: the Ice Beam. Samus' suit is also altered to have the iconic orange colours from her original Varia Suit. Fire the Ice Beam into the Omega Metroid's chest to damage it. The Omega attacks with claw swipes that can leave Samus prone for a few seconds, which isn't good considering we still have a countdown until impact to worry about. Keep a healthy distance between it as you continue to fire your beam and it should go down before the timer runs out. Upon the Omega Metroid's defeat Samus' ship returns to pick her up and that's the end of Metroid Fusion.

Adam Malkovich, the commanding officer that Samus named her ship's computer after, was a character we didn't have many details about until the release of the video game Metroid: Other M in 2010. Metroid: Other M serves as a prequel to the events of this game and sets up most of the plot threads established here such as the Federation splinter faction, the Metroid cloning project, and the origins of the Ridley corpse stored inside the Sub Zero Containment Room. Most notably, it also elaborates on Samus' relationship with Adam and depicts the events that resulted in him sacrificing his life for Samus. In a strange twist of fate, the Galactic Federation had uploaded Adam Malkovich's mind to a computer prior to his death, which later became the A.I. assigned to Samus' current ship. Samus calling the A.I. Adam seemed to have somehow awakened his human memories making it essentially Samus' former commander reborn as a computer. Seems like this new Adam will be working alongside Samus as her navigator moving forward.

Anyways, after the credits roll the game displays our clear time and item collection rate. Like previous games, you will receive a specific ending and gallery image based on the aforementioned conditions. I will go over these and other features of the game in an upcoming bonus video. See you then!
