Today we have a very special instrument. A statocaster that has been wood burned in the art form native to the Himilayas called MEHNDI. The art of drawing beautiful intricate designs on the human body (and sometimes elephants) using a natural dye called henna. In this case, the design was etched using pyrography or wood burning. The theme of the artwork pays homage to the CHIPKO movement of the 70's. It was a movement to protect the forests in the Himalayan region of Uttarakhand.
