Описание к видео Watch Jupiter's Beautiful Auroras Through James Webb Space Telescope's Eyes | James Webb Jupiter

In this video, take a look at Jupiter's Beautiful And Unusual Auroras Through James Webb Space Telescope's Eyes!

NASA’s powerful new space telescope called James Webb Space Telescope has taken some fascinating pictures of Jupiter that reveal the gas giant in precise detail with some amazing features. These images will offer scientists even more information about what's going on inside Jupiter. The images have been digitally altered and given fake colors to make certain parts stand out. Join Us till the end, as we unravel the mystery behind Jupiter's Beautiful And Unusual Auroras Through James Webb Space Telescope's Eyes!

Jupiter is home to enormous storms, tremendous winds, auroras, and circumstances of extreme temperature and pressure, all of which contribute to the planet's busy atmosphere. Now, fresh pictures of the planet have been taken by the James Webb Space Telescope, which NASA operates. The observations of Jupiter that Webb will perform will provide researchers with considerably more information about the planet's interior life. Imke de Pater, an astronomer who studies planets had said that “we haven't really anticipated it to be this wonderful." As part of an international partnership for Webb's Early Release Science program, De Pater conducted the studies of Jupiter together with Thierry Fouchet, at the Paris Observatory. They did this in conjunction with Jupiter. The Webb Space Telescope itself is part of a larger international mission that is being led by NASA in collaboration with the European Space Agency as well as the Canadian Space Agency. "It is quite incredible that we are able to see details on Jupiter coupled including its rings, tiny satellites, and perhaps even galaxies, all in one image.

Both of these photographs were captured by the Near-Infrared Camera located at the observatory. This camera is equipped with three distinct infrared filters that highlight various aspects of the planet. The infrared light spectrum has been projected onto the visible light spectrum because infrared light is not accessible to the human eye. In most cases, longer wavelengths are represented as having a redder appearance, whilst shorter wavelengths are depicted as having a more blue appearance. The photos that were produced from the Webb data were the result of a collaborative effort between scientists and citizen scientist Judy Schmidt. Within the standalone outlook of Jupiter, which was made by putting together several Webb images, auroras reach up high above both the north and south poles. The auroras shine through a filter that makes the colors redder. This also makes the light reflected from the lower clouds as well as upper hazes stand out. With a different filter, yellows and greens show how hazes move around the north and south poles. A third filter, which is set to show blues, shows light that is reflected from the main cloud that is darker.
In these pictures, the Great Red Spot and other clouds look white because they're reflecting a significant amount of sunlight. The Great Red Spot is a famous storm which is so big that it could swallow our entire Earth. "The brightness here suggests that we are at a high altitude — this means that the Great Red Spot, as well as the equatorial region, have high-altitude hazes." The countless bright white dots and streaks are most likely the cloud tops in condensed turbulent storms that are located at very high altitudes. In contrast, there are few clouds over the region that is located on the north of the equator where the dark ribbons are.
Now, coming to the most interesting part of this video. What exactly causes these mysterious auroras? And why does it emit unusual X-ray flares? Well, you see, it was discovered that oscillations in Jupiter's magnetic field are responsible for the pulsing X-ray auroras that are observed on the planet. The magnetic field of the planet is dragged about by the rotation of the planet itself. And the magnetic field is squeezed as a result of the solar wind particles striking it directly. The compression of heated particles that are held within the field causes a phenomena known as Electromagnetic Ion Cyclotron (Emic) waves to be generated.
