Breaking News| Rishi Kumar Shukla appointed as CBI director

Rishi Kumar Shukla, a 1983 batch IPS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, was appointed as the new chief of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday. He will succeed former CBI director Alok Kumar who resigned from his post last month after being removed from the post unceremoniously.
Shukla is at present the chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Police Housing Corporation. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Shukla’s appointment for a period of two years from the date of assumption of charge of the office.
