You must have listened to his heavenly song 'Ti tūhū gūturia maru kūhoya Ngai'

Njeru Thiga, a gospel artist, says the song was inspired by the battles he has won through prayer, since his childhood.

'People called us poor! Sometimes I could hide in the maize plantation, so as to avoid school because my five siblings and I were all jigger infested; from the feet, to the hands and even the back, which made us a laughing stock.

My parents, who only toiled in our small dry arm, could only afford one meal per day, which was mostly boiled maize.

In my early years in Nairobi, i became a thug, abused alcohol and drugs!

God has been faithful; he saved me, changed me and gave me a wife and two children. My music is now doing well. All I want is to go home 'officially' and gift my parents with a modern house!" he says.
