తుంగ్‌నాథ్ అనేది ప్రపంచంలోని ఎత్తైన శివాలయాలలో ఒకటి.ఉత్తరాఖండ్ రాష్ట్రం, రుద్రప్రయాగ్ జిల్లాలోని ఐదు పంచ కేదార్ దేవాలయాలలో ఇది ఎత్తైనది. ఇక్కడి పర్వతాలు మందాకిని, అలకనంద నదీ లోయలను ఏర్పరుస్తాయి. ఇది 3,690 మీ. (12,106 అ.) ఎత్తులోచంద్రశిలా శిఖరానికి కొంచెం దిగువన ఉంది మహాభారత ఇతిహాసంలోని పాండవుల నేపథ్యం ఇక్కడ ఉంది.
