No other manufacturer has managed to make a commercial van this well. With impressive V6 diesel offering, hydraulic self leveling suspension, full leather comfort seats, smooth ride and classy looks both inside and out, there is nothing better out there even by today's standard.

We take a closer look at the legendary Viano W639 Xtralong ambiente to find out what all fuss is about. Do not mistake this for a VITO. People do this all the time and I get a little upset because they may look alike and share the same chassis and body shape but they are far from the same.

The new Transit, Trafic \ Vivaro \ Primastar and even the T5 and T6 can't match the W639 on comfort, durability, ride quality or performance and it certainly shows in the used market with Viano's holding their value even above 150k miles.

Pros: Durability that even surpasses that of the VW T5, unmatched comfort in the mid-range van market, strong 3.0 Diesel engine that performs better than anything else in it's class, smooth as silk on the road.

Cons: Petrol imports from japan can confuse potential buyers, watch for poor service history, dealers don't seem to know which models they have, lack of visual and performance upgrades available off the shelf, poor stereo system, the aventgarde editions are only available in LWB and are overpriced in the used market.
