Scenes from the Long Island Rail Road

Описание к видео Scenes from the Long Island Rail Road

The Long Island Rail Road operates a commuter service from Manhattan (Penn & Grand Central Stations) in New York City to point on Long Island. The nearer suburban lines are third rail electrified at 750 v DC. Further routes to the far east of Long Island to the Hamptons (Montauk, Greenport, Port Jefferson) are unelectrified and operate double-deck push-pull trains using EMD DE30AC/DM30AC class locomotives. Jamaica is the hub for the network where transfers to the unelectrified services can be made. New York's E, J & Z Subway lines (at Sutphin Boulevard/Archer Avenue/JFK Station) and the Port Authority's JFKAirtain also serve Jamaica Station.
