The member's of Longstreet Lodge No. 268 desired to become more proficient in this play before releasing it on video.

However, during that time a beloved Brother, our Past Master and long serving Secretary, Harold E. Seaver, passed away.

To complete the video of the play without Brother Seaver seemed to be an injustice to our good friend.

As such, we humbly submit this version of Hank's Gift in memory of our Brother, Harold E. Seaver, PM.

It is unfortunate that so many believe that the Fraternity of Freemasons are a secret society. As Freemasons we strive to live morally and do good works in our communities. In this sense, there is nothing secret about Freemasons. We do not advertise our efforts, but try to be a positive influence to those we encounter.

We follow the Word of God and esteem the Holy Bible as the inestimable gift of God to Man.

This play attempts to portray the morals that Freemasonry inculcates to its members, and the fact that Freemasons do not just work inside the doors of their Lodges, but that they affect the community as well.

This play is a fictional story regarding one man. However, the message of the play is not fictional. It portrays the behavior expected of all Freemasons.

Set in 1954 in a remote country lodge, the members of Star Hill Lodge No. 123 are put through an experience where a new Fellow Craft, Hank Johnson, offers the greatest gift that any man can offer.

Acts

Act 1 -

The play opens with the lodge having just conferred the Fellow Craft Degree on Hank Johnson.

While the District Deputy Grand Lecturer addresses the lodge a Fire Alarm is heard coming from another building.

Act 2 -

The lodge meets a few days after the closing of Act 1 to discuss what has happened.

The master of the lodge addresses the lodge on what actions he feels must be taken next.

The act closes as the lodge proceeds to do the work requested by the master of the lodge.

Act 3

The lodge meets in their regular business meeting a few days after the close of Act 2. To the surprise of the lodge, the District Deputy Grand Lecturer has returned – and he has something to say about the behavior of the lodge over the last week.
