A Yoga Practice - 45 Minute Challenging Yoga Workout

Hi All!

I am so excited to share another video. This one is a challenging sequence that falls somewhere between intermediate and advanced but is probably more advanced than not.

It starts out slow and accessible enough and then progresses into quickly executed arm balances, pike hops, and drop-backs without much time for explanation and instruction. If you find yourself lost toward the end, please pause the video and make the practice yours! Modify in a way that feels right. You don't have to do every arm balance, for instance, to get something from the practice. If you can't do drop-backs yet, or are choosing not to for any reason, do bridge or wheel instead. Or take some time at the wall. Another idea is to pause, look up a quick tutorial -- I have one on drop-backs -- and then come back! Be where you're at, work it, practice, have fun. Fall down, laugh it off, and get back on the mat.

Another little heads up is that my Vinyasa practice, according to a lot of the feedback I receive, seems to move rather quickly for many people. I generally take five, and sometimes only three, breaths in a pose. What you're watching is essentially a sample of my home practice, and I tend to move intuitively in and out of postures, holding some longer, some only briefly. If I were standing in front of a class, I would take more time to explain alignment and then let us hang out in the poses for a while. This kind of video sort of assumes that you're familiar with most of the poses, and I do see how it might be a little frustrating for some people. At some point, I would like to post a more instructional, level 1, 1/2 or straight level 2 video that takes more time to break down individual postures, but this isn't quite that video.

If you're an extremely advanced student of asana, I hope you will laugh gutturally and uproariously at me as you watch me fall out of my handstand again and again. My practice is my journey, and I'm loving all of its little magical ups and downs. I hope you'll feel free enough to laugh at yourself along the way too.

Thank you as always for watching. I listen carefully to your requests, so if you have some, be in touch.

If you haven't already, please subscribe, like, share, comment and generally spread the love.

You make me tick! THANK YOU!

~Leigha
