Four years ago we walked into an abandoned log house with no construction background, no restoration experience, and no idea what we were getting into. Here's everything that has happened in the last four years, or, four years and few months to be more precise, but that didn't make a punchy title. Spoiler alert: the house is still very much unfinished!

This project has been a hands-on learning process from start to finish: repairing rotten logs, straightening the structure, rebuilding the foundations, rebuilding floors, restoring windows, working with traditional materials, and learning historic building techniques the hard way, by trying, failing, and trying again. And let's not forget navigating the whole project in a world full of regulations, and of course modern needs for a comfortable life.
