10. SOUNDBITE (English) Jason Gleck, Glaciologist at Alaska Pacific University:
"Alaska villages are susceptible to sea level rise because most of them are located not only along rivers but along the coastal areas. With climate change and a warming climate, sea ice is being impacted. A lack of sea ice is going to mean that there's no longer any protection from the winter, the fall, winter storms that come in. Instead we're having major storm events that are happening more frequently and we're having major storm events that are causing a lot more coastal erosion."

"That stuff probably is on people's minds, but they have other parts of their lives too that if they focus too much on that it will become too much of weight, too much of burden. Because again there are still birthday parties and there are funerals and there are sports events and there's going to visit someone, or coming to singspiration. There's still life happening despite all of the weight and the burden that climate change can cast upon this community."
