Makah Grand Entry 2010 Part 1

Grand Entrance was nothing short of amazing! I was told that during the old days they would have parties out at the old rock quarry where a thunderbird would be lowered down with a whale to start off a party! Well true to Makah form Grand Entry was just as amazing at the Paddle to Makah 2010. Makah council members and elders lead a long line of Makah families and drummers into the tent. Behind them were Makah men,ladies and children dancing in the Whalers who had a whale in tow (Part 2) The whale made by John and Micah McCarty rested in the middle of the floor after a prayer given by Spencer McCarty the whale came to life (part 3) and so did the crowd! Out from the belly of the whale came four crawling wolfs.... Thus the birth of the Makah People! =)) There are three parts to this video... They are labeld Makah Grand Entry Parts 1,2 and 3 Enjoy!
