If you know how the Playstation 3 is designed, you know that no matter what fan you connect to the outside of your PS3, it will not lower the temperature one bit. This is because the GPU is under a heat spreader, with is under the heat sink, which is under a copper duct system, which then gets exposed to the internal fan of the PS3, which is under the fan shroud, which is attached to the mainboard housing. What this means is no outside air can get to the GPU, BUT on the other hand, the internal fan is directly blowing into the duct that holds the heatsink metal to cool the chip.
