Star garnets are found in two places in the world: Idaho and India. We went to Idaho near Clarkia to dig at the US Forest Service run Emerald Creek Garnet Area. This is a fee dig site ($15 for half-day, $30 whole day) that requires permits – purchased ahead of time online. Join us for the second half of the day at this unique location!
