SNAPSHOT of bell hook’s “Teaching To Transgress” (Introduction & Chapter 1) by Yvonne Green for GSU’s Introduction To Literary Studies class.

One time this semester, each student will post a video link for a short presentation on companion readings, which will usually be deep explorations of the ideas under discussion that day. In these presentations, the student will:
1. Offer a detailed summary of the essay
2. Spotlight one keyword from the essay that audience members need to takeaway, and
3. Situate the essay in the broader context of our class discussions. You should try to make one specific connection to the other readings due that week to help the class understand what is likely a complex essay.
