Join me on a peaceful winter walk through Manhattan’s far West Side, exploring the ultra-modern Hudson Yards, the icy beauty of a partially frozen Hudson River, and the edges of vibrant Chelsea — all captured in stunning 4K.

We begin at the Hudson Yards 7 train station and head straight into the heart of this ambitious neighborhood. We pass just outside the iconic Vessel sculpture and step inside The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards — a sleek, light-filled luxury mall that feels like a warm escape on a cold day.

From there, we walk west along 34th Street to the Hudson River Greenway. I had hoped to include the High Line, but it was closed due to lingering snow. The consolation prize? Jaw-dropping views of the Hudson River scattered with floating ice fragments — a rare winter spectacle I’ve only seen a handful of times in my life.

After lingering along the waterfront, we loop back north along 11th Avenue, returning to Hudson Yards with fresh appreciation for this ever-evolving part of the city.

Quick history: Hudson Yards is New York’s newest mega-development, built atop active rail yards on the Far West Side. Opened in 2019, it transformed a once-industrial area into a mix of gleaming skyscrapers, public art, high-end shopping, and green space. Nearby Chelsea, just to the south, has long been one of Manhattan’s creative hubs — famous for its art galleries and the elevated High Line park that repurposed old rail tracks into a beloved public garden.
