This webinar focuses on municipal zoning options that can reduce the likelihood of cyanobacteria blooms by reducing nutrient inputs into a waterbody. NHDES Chief Aquatic Biologist Dave Neils describes what a municipal overlay district is, and why they were included as part of the Cyanobacteria Plan. Two cases studies from towns that have adopted ordinances intended to restore and/or protect water quality are featured. David Blundell of the Cobbetts Pond Water Quality Team and Brad Roscoe of the Chesterfield Watershed Subcommittee describe case studies from their respective municipalities.
