Neck Pain Due to Headstand • Inversion Yoga Series #10 • Yoga with Anastasis

Neck pain due to headstand is common. However, it is not necessary!

If you experience:
• sore neck
• stiff neck
• shoulder pain
• neck pain or
• headache in headstand is due to the way you practice. The position of your shoulders and scapula and to a lesser extent your hands, determine if you are overloading your neck or if you keeping your neck free of any pressure. Take your time to review the cues in this video and you will be able to perform headstand progressions.

I have taught headstands students in their 1st yoga class, as old as 74 years old (with a history of shoulder problems) - Not all of my students learned how to headstand in their 1st class, but it often doesn't take more than a few wakes and the pain complaints are rare. In this video, I'm covering what you should do if you are experiencing neck pain due to headstands.
