I love this viewpoint on confidence and the development of skills for our children.

As parents, we want to be active in building our children's self-esteem. And complementing them and being supportive of their efforts can be a really valuable tool in giving them helpful language on how they should talk to themselves.

But when it comes down to it, our children are the same as any other human in that they desire to have purpose and make an impact in the world.

When they're young, this feeling of purpose and usefulness comes as they grow and look to learn and build skills.

And we can build a ton of confidence in our children by allowing them to make an impact in their lives and the lives of others through skill development.

This is an incredibly important topic that is sometimes overlooked in parenting conversations.
