In a recent website post about Glide wrappers I discussed DOCBox-X Glide passthrough and I'd thought I'd share a quick video.

This is Jetfighter III a DOS Glide game. I'm just sort of messing about and recalibrating the hotas. I really just wanted to demo DOSBox-X and the Glide passthrough option.

The Glide requests generated by the game, can be handled by a modern DOSBox version, DOSBox-X, Staging, etc, emulating the 3dfx hardware at a low level, which needs a fast pc as the CPU is doing all the heavy lifting.

DOSBox-X has a Glide passthrough option, the Glide requests are passed through to be handled by something else. In my case I have nGlide installed and it deals with the Glide requests converts them and passes them over to the GPU.
