SOTS #20: A pooled staking platform has had ten validators slashed

u/Superphiz breaks down today's slashing event against a pooled staking platform. This serves as another reminder that it's too early to place your funds in the hands of someone else as part of a staking pool.

There will be a safe time and place to do this, and as we learn more you'll be the first to know. The best thing to do now is to sit back and watch the events play out until there is a better, safe way to participate if you don't have 32 Eth or don't want to stake all of it.

The Ethereum Due Diligence Committee is actively working on compiling information on the current staking pool platforms to help you make the best decision on who to trust with your Eth.

I provide a strong encouragement to wait before submitting funds to pooled, exchange, or staking as a service platforms until the June 2021 timeframe.

Look for more guidance referring pooled staking from the Ethereum Due Diligence Committee at https://ethddc.org. They are currently planning to release their first data around December 10, 2020.
