A lady on Whidbey Island (WA) had an abandoned 1972 Apache Mesa Pop-up camper on her property. She didn't have the crank tool to open it, so she just wanted it hauled off, or else she was going to take it to the dump. We contacted her and took a road trip up from Seattle to check it out. We had little hope that it would be anything more than scrap for parts for our own 1972 Apache Ramada, but it turned out to be much more than that. It looked pretty rough outside, but inside it had been very well preserved during the 20 years since it had been opened last. I had fun writing the spaghetti western score for our little movie.
