For five years I've dreamt of completing all five Washington active stratovolcano summits. Today I've got four behind me and the hardest one to go. It's not the technical challenge of Mount Rainier, but it does demand a far greater mileage. To pull off this weekend we 'll have to run 35 miles and climb nearly two miles above the elevation of our car.

This is Glacier Peak.
