Desan Meadows a paradise on earth is a breathtaking valley of alpine meadows high up in the mountains overlooking Kalam valley swat Pakistan. In summer, it’s blanketed with green grass, while in autumn the grass turns a rusty brown and the trees are a mix of gold and green presenting an unbelievable scenery to the eyes.
Located on the side of Kalam valley and Utror valley of swat it can be accessed by reaching Kalam valley which is around 96 kilometers from Saidu Sharif (Capital of District Swat) and from there on it takes around 9 to 10 hours to reach the meadows. The trek is best suited for hikers and trekkers of all age groups, although due to its height sometimes oxygen deficiency and cramps may occur.
Desan is the perfect destination for independent trekkers, as the meadows sit at the end of a long and clear Jeep track. Even better, the track to the meadows begins in Kalam. There are several minor shortcuts that you can take along the way to save time and effort, and they are generally easy to find, as there will likely be other locals walking up and down the mountain during the day.

The difficult part about reaching Desan Meadows is the climb, it’s a long uphill slog, and the highest point is above 3,600 meters (11,800 feet). Breathing isn’t so easy at such altitudes!

Desan Meadows can be explored through hiking, also there is a jeep track through which it can be explored. The trek also leads to a lake by the name of Godar lake. The lake is located at an altitude of 12800 feet above the sea level. The pastures around the lake is a scenic camping site.
