On June 21st, I posted a video discussing how an issue with YouTube is negatively impacting what I earn from the work I put into this channel. As of this video, revenue continues to remain down, earning at levels I hadn't seen since 2012 when the channel had less than 1000 subscribers (YouTube Partner eligibility didn't require 1k subs back then). My second channel cubecompmtdx has surpassed Cube Computer Channel for daily earnings and not in a good way.

YouTube and Google AdSense have protective algorithms in place to help protect advertisers what's known as invalid traffic or invalid activity. Invalid traffic is basically any sort of ad traffic that doesn't come from a legitimate website visitor with genuine interest. Since this past March, there has been an uptick in reports from creators big and small, of their channels being impacted by this issue. Many, including myself, are alleging this is a bug, or a glitch, and that is because when I look at my channel's traffic and traffic sources, I don't see any abnormalities at all. What I did see was some large fluctuations in ad revenue, however these fluctuations have happened in the past. I don't click my own ads. I don't buy traffic. I don't ask viewers to click ads or loop playlists. I'm not doing anything that could cause bad or invalid traffic on my videos. I am very concerned that advertisers are being refunded for legitimate views and impressions, and ads are continuing to be limited on videos seeing legitimate traffic. Basically a couple select videos have been seeing high bids (page RPMS) and making up a big chunk of the total revenue earned.

The lack of support from YouTube's creator support is appalling. Basically they just copy and paste paragraphs from their help articles and repeatedly blame the issue on invalid traffic. It's to the point where I am considering sharing my story with the local news. While this is a supplemental income for me, there are many creators who live solely off YouTube, and for stuff like this to happen is nothing short of a disgrace.

Many years ago, when a small amount of invalid traffic was "alleged", that amount would be debited from the total earnings and refunded to advertisers. This happened one time when my channel was into the YPP for maybe a year. Nowadays, if YouTube's systems "detect" even a small amount of invalid traffic, not only is that amount refunded, YouTube chokes the alleged video(s) (which they never tell you which ones) of most of their ad revenue for a minimum of 7 days.
