In this video, I get the opportunity to meet with Marjorie and John, active members of the community who moved to Gig Harbor in 2018. They moved up here from California after visiting their daughter a couple of times, who attended university at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. They dreamed of retiring in Gig Harbor and on the day their daughter graduated, their house in California closed! Now, as active retirees, they enjoy the many activities our town has to offer. Such as, Gig Harbor New Neighbors and the Dragon Boats of Gig Harbor. Marjorie has been a member of the Dragons since 2020, and John, since early 2024. The Dragons get out 4 times a week to practice, and what Marjorie and John enjoy about being a part of the teams, is the camaraderie. Being fairly social people, they enjoy spending time with other members of the community and staying active, and the Dragons can provide that.
