Park Rangers Oversee Weekly Cleanup Operation at Venice Beach Boardwalk

Venice, Los Angeles – Friday, November 22, 2024 — Los Angeles Park Rangers, LAPD officers, and sanitation workers carried out a focused cleanup operation at the Venice Beach Boardwalk as part of the ongoing weekly maintenance initiative.

The coordinated effort, aimed at upholding public safety and cleanliness, extended across the beach and surrounding areas. Led by Los Angeles Park Rangers and supported by the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, LA County Beaches and Harbors, the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, and Clean Harbors Environmental Inc., the initiative focused on clearing encampments and ensuring sanitary conditions along this popular beachfront.

Park Rangers enforced Los Angeles Municipal Code 63.44, which prohibits camping structures and tents in city parks. No citations were issued during this operation, underscoring the city’s compassionate approach to managing public spaces while addressing homelessness.

The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) provided vital support during the operation, distributing food, water, and hygiene kits to those in need, helping to support the unhoused community during the cleanup.
