FULL ENGLISH TRANSLATION (new condensed style)

1: May the left or right half of Shiva — fire-marked brow, blue throat, crescent moon, half-armored, half-naked — be auspicious for you.

2: In one hand a mirror, in the crown a moon — the child (Skanda) recognized both mother + father in one lap — may that Ardhanarishvara hold you with love.

3: Even when the bodies appear separate — Shiva always follows Her intention — may He protect you likewise.

4: Using one horn of the bull + one gender half — the bow is strung — the dual-constructed body itself is wealth.

5: Not tapas alone — love itself creates the other half — this hymn arose from Devi’s mouth — may that protect you.

6: The serpent’s curls & the woman’s curls — like male cuckoo & female — same syllable, different meaning — let such divine speech protect you.

7: Right eye needs kajal from left hand — left hand needs ornament from right — they are untrained in separation — may that crooked soft smile grant your desire.

8: Their playful quarrel is auspicious — and when Ganas stand away scared — the union becomes crystal clear — may that be auspicious for you.

9: May the head-jewel of Ardhanarishvara — the part that makes you think Parvati is second — bring you prosperity.

10: Where Parvati’s braid wraps with the serpent’s dark coils — may that body of Sthāṇu scatter all your misfortune.

11: Even old bull, dwarf, crooked, pale — all are in that court — from only half of that body — sin gets cut — may Parvati of the inner palace protect you.
