What started out as making spice rubs as gifts for family and friends officially launched as
Max Mix Gourmet Spice Blends in November 2024.

The founder, Max Crawford, is 21 years old and has big passions and dreams, including living independently and going to college. Besides wanting a fun, meaningful job, Max loves sports, music, video games, and has earned a black belt in Tea Kwon Do. One of Max's attributes is Down syndrome.

Max currently attends the College Life program through The Mauren Fund at Missouri Baptist University. He is on the Special Olympics Bowling team and enjoys participating in the young adult programs at the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis.

Max Mix Gourmet Spice Blends is a family project. Max’s sister, Maggy, is a marketing professional and manages the Max Mix website, social media, and provides expertise in copywriting and design. Rod, Max’s dad, provides expertise in sales and distribution and wrote the business plan. Pam, Max’s mom, offers expertise in marketing, public relations, and brand building. The family is originally from Kansas City. Rod, Max, and Pam
currently live in the St. Louis area, and Maggy resides in Kansas City.
